Can you believe they’re 2 already! Me neither! We’re enjoying our day playing and trying out play dough for the first time!

Duets

One kid sitting playing piano is cute. Twins doing it together just turns the cuteness way up. ūüôā

A week in pictures

This week the flu hit, and it hit hard! Michael and Anna came down with it first and then Connor and I followed another day or 2 after. Poor Anna’s been so sick we had to go to the ER for fluids yesterday. It’s been a long rough week. We’re praying this miserable virus leaves us soon so we can get to feeling better! The week in pictures…

What’s new?

Well, it’s been a ridiculously long time since I posted again. ¬†No excuse this time other than: I’m busy. ¬†Believe it or not! ¬†So here’s a list of what we’ve been up to lately.

  • Saying “Michael get down” about 600 times a day – serioulsy, this child is part monkey. ¬†A very stubborn one.
  • Listening to “No!” and “Mine” being yelled by 2 little (almost) 2 year olds
  • Playing video games – new and old
    • I’ll admit, we’ve played waaaaay to many video games lately. ¬†Or rather the boys have. ¬†I kept telling myself, “It’s Christmas vacation.” ¬†“It’s too cold to do much else” ¬†etc. ¬†Basically, we got lazy and spent too much time with the television on for one reason or another. ¬†Already making changes to fix this bad habit we’ve slipped into.
  • Watching Mickey, Elmo, Superheroes, etc
    • Like above, way too much.
  • ¬†Staying warm and dry. ¬†Cabin fever was really starting to set in after this subzero cold snap and 3 snow days added to the end of Christmas break. ¬†Thanks goodness everything is back to normal today!
  • Playing with new Christmas toys, games, puzzles, kitchens, trains, superheroes, cars, babies, etc.
  • Visiting with family, those close by and those from other time zones ūüėČ
  • Singing, dancing, laughing, yelling, whining, jumping, arguing, running, bouncing, climbing, wrestling…
  • Having movie nights, game nights, dance parties, obstacle courses, and anything else we can think of to keep little people busy.
  • Celebrating Christmas and New Year’s with our wonderful families.
  • Going to church, the grocery, walmart, Gran and Papaw’s, Grandma and Grandpa’s,Dr’s appointments, and (finally) back to school and work.
    • Don’t get me wrong, I loved having Nathan and Dustin home over the break. ¬†I missed Nathan on his first day back yesterday. ¬†However, today, with everybody back to their normal places, things feel much more normal around here.
  • Phasing out pacifiers (or baa-bees as they’re called around here). ¬†We’re down to just nap and bedtimes.
    • I’m not brave enough to make the final leap yet. ¬†It’s only been 3 days of no daytime. ¬†I think we need to get a little more accustomed to settling down during the day without it first.
  • Potty training? (Gasp!)
    • Yeah…I wasn’t planning on this yet. ¬†I really don’t want ¬†to either. ¬†I mean really, I loathe potty training. ¬†Doing it with 2 is very overwhelming to think about. ¬†BUT, they’re interested. ¬†They will randomly want to go sit and “potty”. ¬†I use quotes because there hasn’t exactly been a lot of success. However, (at the risk of TMI) just a few minutes ago Anna said “Uh oh poo” and pointed to the bathroom. ¬†That’s right, I took her, sat her down, and she went! ¬†Maybe we’re going to do this thing now after all. ¬†We’re waiting on our new potties to arrive. ¬† Then we’ll see what happens.
  • And finally, sleeping.
    • Yep, some. ¬†Nathan actually took a nap several days of his break. ¬†We were pretty busy and not so good with the bedtimes. so he needed it. ¬†After colds, a case of bronchitis, and traveling, we’ve got everyone pretty well back on good sleep schedules. ¬†Hallelujah.

So that’s the craziness of the last few weeks. ¬†I’m hoping to get some pictures up of our Chrismas’ and travels. ¬†It may just be a few highlights. ¬†Hopefully I’ll get a chance soon…

Oh, did I mention laundry and cooking? ¬†Yeah, they are every present. ¬†The washer stopped and it’s almost lunch time. ¬†Time to get at it!
